Ron,
I had the same question about a skeg on the Guillemot 17 that I am building. I am used to the exelent tracking of my Chessapeake 17 & 16 and thought that a skeg was the way to go on the G-17.
I have designed and just started building a retractable skeg for the boat. The design is quite simple & east to build but the slider control may be a little more difficult. Havent started that yet but I have some ideas.
I have a drawing of the skeg that I designed in a Autocad DWG format and if you or anyone else is interested and can read the DWG file, I'll be happy to send it on request.
