Did you try a ribbed roller instead of a brush to get rid of the air bubbles? An old hand at fiberglass probably has several lying around the shop. So long as the roller turns freely, it is far superior to tipping out bubbles with a brush. It also "mashes" the fabric against the wood, reducing glass float and improving the glass/epoxy ratio. I have used them on 3.25 oz satin weave, with no problems whatsoever. Good luck.
