I built a CLC 180 last year and put a strip deck on it. It was relatively easy the way i did it but required the staple method and waisting some okome. I built the hull as they sugest then atached a rough cut ply deck with 18 guage pnumatic brads. On the top of this sacrificial deck i layed wax paper. Then i glued and stapled a strip deck with inlay and all. Next ipulled the staples - planed, sanded and layed up my glass. When all of the exterior glassing was done i pulled the deck off and finished and glassed the interior. This step requires care to devise support for the deck when it is being worked on upside down. then i put an epoxy slury on the sheer clamps and clamped the deck to the hull with lots of ratchet straps (nails would be eaiser). Let see what i forgot - when i put on the sacrifical deck i let it over hang and when i built the strip deck i built it so it would also hang over the side of the hull a bit (1/4"). When it was all cured i planed this overhang off and made sure to get epoxy in the open grain (easy and not too messy if it is going to be behind a rub rail). Building on a sacrificial deck adds a hair to the deck radius but this seems to be of no consequence as it is really a hair. Have fun, Todd
