the folks at h.h.perkins told me not to use any sort of treatment on the natural cane, so i bought the plastic cane instead. they feel that if the cane is allowed to dry completely after wetting it should be fine. i said, "huh?" and went with plastic. i also recall reading somewhere that cane could be varnished. these conflicting reports make me think that the "folks who know" don't really know.
