: Hi all,
: I have spent the last two hours figuring out how to post a picture using the
: new PhotoPoint. Anyway I finally finished stripping 1/2 of the deck with
: cedar and it hasn't been easy because of difficult clamping and bending of
: the strips. I hate to think about doing the other side. Where you see the
: tape arrow is a 1/8" gap that has appeared between the deck and haul,
: because I think of so much pressure of the strips trying to pull upward.
: But what I wanted to know is how you would take care of it, and now or
: later. I was thinking of the clamp straps that were on the board in a
: picture a week or two ago. What do you call them and where do you get
: them. I thought maybe I could put them around the area of the boat with
: the gap when I'm not working on it and perhaps wet the area down to help
: pull it back into shape with the strap clamp. Thanks for any advise.
: John I would find a scrap peace of ply wood and cut the form that was in the location of the gap( remove 1/4 off the primetier) . Making a ring that would slide over the hull placing the inner form in the kayak so it would retain its shape .Its has to conform to this shape and if you need alittle more just use a small wedge to close up the gap.Check out image #10 Rick
