Curt,

I am building a Redfish Kayak presently and used cedar as my inner stem woods (i.e., same as stripping wood) and honduras mahagony for the outer stems.
The laminations were easy and the mahogany should help the boat stand up to the rigors of use I plan on.... You should be able to find stock wood at a cabinet builder I suspect and then rip it... I found waht I needed in rural Idaho.........

As for progress on my kayak, the deck is coming along..... having a ball.. unfortunately work keeps getting in the way... (as well as skiing)

Cheers.
Jim

: I am building a Nomad 17 and need wood for the inner and outer stems. I live

: appreciated.
