John,
Don't tell Nick, but I'm thinking of a hybred Gt. Auk, Ply deck and bottom panels with strip sides. Your experience has convinced me of the wisdom of a solid wood inwale to fasten the deck, rather than trying to roll a strip of glass down the inside seams. Love your "traditional" deck design.
