ok...maybe i opened a big can of worms that we will never be able to come up with a perfect solution. i think both opinions represented here are correct. i'm not a militant enviromentalist, though i can see how some people can become one. these people run out hope that our government, or big corporations will do the right thing. its really sad that folks in florida must choose betwen personal safety and a protected bird species. part of me says, "no compromise....no surrender" meaning screw those birds, people are more important; but, on the other hand all i ever hear on t.v. and read in publications is how the swap lands down there are going the way of the studebaker. hey, i want to paddle down there before it becomes a giant theme park or land fill. i want my kids to see it also. so, in many ways i agree with spidey.
over the last weekend i read the publiction that sierra club puts out. it seems they offer good vacation trips etc... i like that they look out for enviromental issues, i just don't go along with where they are politically.
anyone know how i feel?
