: I'm building my very first kayak a Guillemot "L". I've finished
: stripping the hull and ready to turn it over to do the deck. My problem is
: there are some gaps between some of the strips. I'm blaming on
: inexperience...or bad glue...or not enough light in the shop...or on el
: nino... There are not a lot of them and I don't think they are that bad.
: My problem is everything I've done to try to fix them has looked worse
: then the gaps themselves. My question is can I just leave them? Will the
: air in them out gas when I glass? Will they cause a "dimple" in
: the glass as it cures?

If they're big enough to see (without backlighting) shove/glue slivers of wood in'em. If not glass it.

On the inside you can bother to fill cracks with water based wood filler (fast, easy to sand) and not bother with matching wood color.

As long as you seal, then glass, with dropping shop temps you'll be fine.

All the best,
Rob
