PGJ,
Years ago when there was no kayak BBS or much else beyond Dave Hazan's book, I faced this problem. Not having the courage to apply brute force (this wasn't an English car after all!) I resorted to a dental technique. Grasping nylon twine in both hands I "flossed" the forms from the hull. This process left some masking tape on both surfaces but freed the forms without violence.
