i build my boats at my place of business (sheet metal shop). while stripping i will go in early and put on two strips; one on each side; stay late; two more strips. a canoe takes about two weeks to get all the strips on. doing it like this allows me to pay attention to a small portion of the entire project and get it right without trying to get too much done at once.

earlier responses seem to have mistaken my "slots" for grooves. you can see through the places i place my clamps.
