Cut the strips. 15 % moisture is as dry as most construction lumber is when it is used. If you note the S-Dry designation on regular building lumber, it means dried to around 18 % moisture. If the strips sit a few days after you cut them, they will be fine. The main concern is that they get done shrinking before you put them on the boat.

: Yesterday I picked up a bunch of air dried flat sawn Western Red Cedar (after
