Hi Daren, I don't have the time to post pictures as much as I would like, I guess I don't have the know how as Rehd is trying to get my breain to work like this computer....and be able to post in the blink of an eye...I hope it works
But the edge of my forms are made this way....use 3/4 ply, cut them out and put the form together and fair the form as much as possible, and then take it apart and soak the edges with thin epoxy, to give it strength, sand the bmps off from the epoxy and set up the router table with a 1/4 or 5/16 bit cutting not quite half through the plywood. set the fence about 5/16 from the bit and cut the groove all the way around the form on the outside or the stem side of the forms.
to use the one inch pony clamps, and I like only the metal clamps and have tried ALL the others, remove one of the orange rubber tips to fit in the groove. the tweener clamps have a 1 x1 x 1 1/2 blue foam rubber stuffed in the jaws and that acts as the buffer for the bead and also as the pressure for the clamp to hold the strips togetther. Oh, when you get the hundred or so clamps new, you should put them in a bucket and pour it full of lacquer thinner and swish them around a bit to wash the mold release from the orange pads and they won't slip around when you try to use them for the tweener clamps, they have changed their mold release over the years and it is getting slipperyer....ha.
