We have taken quite a few pictures the past few visits out to David's shop, but I don't know if we've taken a close-up of that particular area. I will see, and If not I'll see if he will let me stop by and get a poloroid shot of it and stick it on here this evening.....

Just tried to call David and he's gone, probably on his way to Monterey to sell a canoe. Joe's picture is very close to the same. I think Davids groove is a little deeper and closer to the edge and he also uses 3/4" plywood. But, you get the idea I'm sure. As for the clamps with the foam, he uses a medium soft piece and just stuffs it into the jaws of the 1" sprimg clamps. He has a couple thousand of the clamps around as he's usually doing at least 4 boats at a time and just goes from one to the next.

David has lots of good ideas, but I still have to get him into the present century on his computer. Working on it!! I took a roll of film in his shop last night and will get them back soon. He was epoxying the outside of a 12' canoe and the inside of a 12'? kayak while we were watching the Shop T.V. and talking. His shop cat " Sticky " was also in attendance. More later,
