Hi Richard;
I don't want this to sound argumentative, as I know I differ with George and Rob as to how to efficiently apply glass and resin to a wood surface, and we've tread this path before. But your question highlights the differences between the techniques and the amount of work involved. Please take my post as simply raw information, in the tone it is presented.
In under an hour, starting with a bare wood surface, it is easy to place the glass, wet out cloth and wood, add the abrasion and stem strips, and resin them all in place - IF you dump and squeegee. A fill coat could be forthcoming in hours (depending on your hardener and temps), and then out comes the ever-so-much-fun ROS . . .
It just sounds like so much more tedium the other way. Hull glassing should be a simple 45 minute task.
Best Regards, Spidey
