hang in there Greg, I'm assuming that you are describing a squeegeed, textured layer of glass that has it's first wet out coat. A definitive answer is that the degree of waxy contamintation is a function of how "very" lightly you brushed the surface. Just to put things in perspective I've put fill coats on glass that were in a shop that develops a discernable layer of dust after 24 hrs. If fish-eyes did occur it was after a couple of fill coats when surface viscosity characteristics of semi-cured epoxy get weird. I'd hold off on any drastic solutions untill hearing from more of the experts around here. My 2cents, you can throw anxieties to the wind and lay on 'poxy. But that'll make for one unhappy job given all the work you've done so far. Either confirming the contamination or suffering the anxiety through the subsequent coats and reading every peculiarity into the aforementioned boo-boo. Or you can let the stuff cure, scrubb with a nylon scrub pad and warm water, blow dry and go for it, there's enough texture to not worry about bonding. At first I was thinking about using alcohol with the scrub pad but that's probably just as likely to take stuff down into the crevices of the glass. I'm swearing off silicone sealant for the reasons of contamination. Hang in there, the Auk is on my short list for neat boats. Really I do have a short list.
