Funny thing, wood prices. They really vary by location.
I paid $1.50 bf for 16 to 20 ft 1x8 clear wr cedar last summer, $5 each for 16 ft pine(or could be spruce, I'm not sure how to tell them apart) 1x6, and $38 for a 9 foot Peruvian Walnut 1x6 about 2 months ago. I saw clear cedar 8 ft 1x6 for $7.98 each about a month ago at the local lumber yard. I live in BC.
