: "Safety" the System 3 people specifically state that there's no
: harm in the vapor--in fact, no vapor to speak of. They are very strict
: about nt getting it on your skin, however. Rob says, in the instrux for
: his boats, that you should use a respirator, and I think he's using System
: 3 products.

:I am working on my third boat this winter. I have noticed that sometimes when
I open a container of epoxy without a respirator that I will sneeze. I wear a respirator all the time no matter how small the epoxy batch is, because I don't want to develop a further sensitivity to the epoxy. By the time you develop the sensitivity it is too late. We may find out in a few years that what we suspect now will become a larger health concern. I remember working in an asbestos factory many years ago and we could see the fibers floating in the air. They told us not to worry that it wasn't dangerous! I am surprised that the companies that are distributing epoxy aren't more blatant about the use of respirators. addison
