Hi-

A few of us have started to build Alaskan Recovery kayaks. These were used to recover seals when the Aluets started using firearms. They had to be able to handle the surf zone to do their job.
We are following plans by Bob Morris originally published in Sea Kayaker in OCT. 1998.
They look very similar to some whitewater boats, and since they are skin-on-frame they are a quick build.
