I tried the "Swiffer Sweeper" cloth and found it left tiny filaments on the surface if it snagged even the slightest imperfection. John didn't mention that this was happening to him, and I didn't get any bubbles in the varnish that I attributed to this. I just got a hairy finish. :O

I've used the Flagship varnish on all my boats with no problem. I understand it's much thicker than the Captains. I usually thin it a little, but if the can is fresh, I can apply it straight without getting brushmarks.

I've used both the Polybrush foam brushes and badger hair brushes with similar results.
