Hi everyone,
Here is where I stand, I am building Rob's North Star Kayak and I am a first-timer. I have the hull striped (per say) and I have run across just about every little first-time mistake but not TOO bad. I am now scraping it and sanding it as I go from stem to bow. There are a few strips that did not get enough glue or they did not press together enough to seal. As I press with the sander or scraper the strips move, viberate, bounce, seperate, etc. How do I fix all the loose strips? They are random here there and everywhere. They are from 1-2" to 1-2' in length.
Also between scraping and sanding I am making a lot more and wider gaps. How wide do I let go before I should fill with splinters? Should I make mix for gaps with glue or resin?
Thanks ahead of time.
paddle on,
Dave
