Does anyone have any information on the size and shape of the Aleut single-bladed paddle? Zimmerly mentions their existence but gives no information in his website. There is alot of info around on alaskan single bladed paddles but to my knowlege they are from kayak types that were paddled in the kneeling position such as the kodiak, norton island, or king island. Such paddles are around five feet in length or longer. Does anyone know of arctic peoples who used single paddles in the seated position? I am curious as to the variations in shapes and lengths to the kneeling-type paddles. Thanks!
