Ho hum... Oh, somebody called. Yeh, I've been house cleaning, so what??

You have answers from two of the Walrus builders already. Mine is about halfway, and has been neglected lately. My neighbors have been on my butt to get this place cleaned up. Heck, their kid just came over this evening and took the carpet out of the last room, so we can start taking walls out. whooopie!!

My Walrus is the 18 1/2' model and I'm still undecided whether to make it a single for me or a double for some friends that are really interested. The beam on mine is 26 1/2" and I believe the 17' boat is around 20 to 21". I'm building mine and taking pictures as I go and building a website as we type. My friend Paul, the computer wizard is here taking down info for the forms page this evening. We'll have it up in the next few days and be adding to it as I build and take pictures.

I have the sheets on the shortened forms and I think I have a picture of mine on the photopoint site, so will look and see and post on here if I can find them. I will copy the numbers down and email them to you if you like. The numbers I have are from adjustments that Paul Jacobson drew up a couple years ago and I believe Mike Hanks has the archives address for them if you want to ask him.

My reason for building the 18 1/2' boat were that I am too.... uh, wide for the 20" wide boat, so I went with the longer one. I'm 6'3" and 240 lbs. and size 13 clods. I'm using canvas, but, I'm using #12 cotton duck instead of the #10 that everyone else used. It's between the # 10 and 10 oz. cloth in weight and probably strength as well. I will also use the Acrylic latex as well on this particular boat, but, on the next, I will go light weight as others have done.

I'm being ordered to go pick up Chinese... yeh, the neighbors again. So, let me know if you want the offsets and I'll email them to you.
