The finer the dust is, and the more there is of it, the higher the risk gets.
And keep in mind static electricity and power-tools when working in dusty or flammable-fumes conditions.
I don't think it normally reaches critical conditions in garages and one-man workshops, but no harm in beeing aware.
A friend of mine who works at a furniture factory tells me that allthough the machines have serious ventilation-systems, they have to wear anti-static-equipment (similar to computer-technicians) when doing maintainance and clean-up on the machines.(They had a fire in a automatic varnishing-system this morning -tuesday. Guess someone screwed up!)
