Ouch! Sorry to hear that. I separated my shoulder many years ago (Lesson Learned: at 30+ you can't do those silly tricks on your bike that you used to do at 12 :-) I was quite sore for a while, but did manage to get back to normal activity after a month or so. I did find my arm had restricted motion for a long time. Ask about a physical therapist to give you some exercises to help extend the range of motion. I would also think that regular exercise like paddling would help once things start healing. Just nothing strenuous like rolling :-)
