Hi Mike, my "banana boat" is about %75 in the direction of a skinny Arctic Tern. 18'x21", at least in the bottom panels the deck is a regular CLC one piece ply over beam and bulkhead to sheer clamps. I gave the boat lots of rocker, generous flare forward of my feet, the stern is a little too far back but I'll bring it in on the next one and make the stern keel section less rockered with a tad more volume at the water and more pronounced skeg to reduce weather cocking although it's easily corrected with a lean. My goal was to make the most manueverable long boat I could with a predictable transition to the edge. The volume came out about %10 more than desired but that's ok. I felt quite pleased until one of the respected paddlers in the club said "looks like it'll make a great camping boat"!! And I thought,,,but it's skinny on the water, and fast...but he's right compared to folks that paddle british boats. Amazing what just an extra 1/4" of height does for volume when it's the top section of a curved volume. Camping boat indeed, I like how deep it sits in the water. I think when one gets down to four panels for a boat there's an optimum shape with some variations for personal preferences. Kind of like how for 700c tires and road bikes the angles and dimensions cluster within a particular range for a particular kind of riding.
