I never got the kettle to do the tail. I rigged up a pot on the kitchen stove to do the tail, then ran to the garage to fit the strip. I really don't want to go that route again as it made a mess in the kitchen. I tried my mini steamer last night and it worked pretty good. I made it so I can add a longer tube in the future for doing larger strips. Sure does get them strips hot! Not much luck bending with the heat gun. The strips seem to snap at a certain point

Yes. I too thought I messed up and started to try and sand it down. Then I thought as you, maybe it should be like that and left it

I used the gorilla glue. If you use it make sure to wear gloves! It takes a week to wear off your finger tips! I finished my new front mini deck last night and it came out better than the first. No ROS this time as I'll hand sand it. The tail deck is another challenge. I checked the site out you provided but it did look like a slow process. I trying a couple of ideas now but I leaning toward doing a Cherry veneer. I am going to do the glassing starting Friday night and hope to be working on the insides by Monday. We'll see how thing go over the weekend.
