Yes, this seems likely. I'll be looking into many parameters with this experimental paddle, among them dimensions of loom, starting thick of course. So I figured why not make it hollow as well, and see what it gives.

Later, when I'll know better what it is that works for me, I'll probably go for light weight as well, and lighter wood. Nice to hear that even as much as 1/3 is attainable! And if the stiffness starts to bother me, now I know how to get rid of that, too.
