Wouldn't use it: too unstable. The conservative route is to use a jigsaw metal-cutting (hacksaw) blade held in a pair of vice grips. Grip the blade so that it cuts on the downstroke. Failing that, use your jig saw with a downward cutting, fine-tooth blade--or, again, a metal-cutting blade. Put masking tape over the cut line area. Add lots of light. Cut slowly and carefully, and it's no sweat.
