: Hi everyone,

: I'll be fiberglassing the deck on the weekend and I wonder what is the best
: way to trim the glass in the green stage. Along more than 75% of the shear
: I have no gap. In the worst case I have about 1mm gap. It is easy to trim
: the glass with a sharp knife where you have a gap. What is the best
: approach in a section where there is no gap. Should I slowly notch through
: the cloth till I hit the shear line?

I just finished trimming mine 10 minutes ago and it went well. I was afraid to glass without something between the shear of the deck and haul because the epoxy might seep in between them and bond them. That probably doesn't happen but I still worried about it. I raised my deck a little and put blue tape between the deck and haul and pulled the deck back down. I waited 12 hours after I fiberglassed and trimmed with a utility knife. It was easier then I thought it would be.
