The Guillemot was my first kayak! I would have liked some real nice wood, but time and money sent me to my local home depot for 1x6 cedar, fir, and pine/spruce.

The building can be slow at times, but once you get it on the water you will wonder what all the pain was about. Now I am finding that it is hard to do any more work on the boat as I would rather take it out, I did get 3 coats of varnish on before the fun started!

I made a design sorta from different colors and shades of cedar strips and some pine, including small knots.
