Hey, I've got a couple of those on my boat! I was afraid I had some on the paddle I carved last week but now that I picture what straight grain looks like when you cut or plane the angle from the loom to the blade, of course some of the grain will be showing on the paddle edges.

I've only used the greenland style paddle once so far and only for a short time, but I was supprised at how much power it had. I guess I was thinking I wouldn't be able to accelerate as well or sweep turn as well. Can't wait to get it out on a longer paddle.
