Running Deck Strips Through the Cockpit

Hi,

Does anyone know of a reason not to run the deck strips to completly cover the cockpit (just like the hatches) and after glassing both sides, only then cutting out the cockpit ? I want to strip the deck this way and need to know if I am heading for unforseen trouble.
