: I'm not quite sure what size of bit I used, but it is a little bit bigger
: than 1/16 as suggested in my Pygmy Canoe manual. What is the best way to
: fill these holes so that I do not get light shining through them? I was
: going to fill them with epoxy thickened with wood flour just before I do
: the saturation coat on the outside of the hull. Any other ideas?
Be careful with your fillers and test them. I first used a two part filler that had a perfect color for my dark red cedar. But when I sanded, it turned a much lighter color and wouldn't darken when it was wet out. I had to dig it all out with an ice pick. I tried several kinds of fillers before I settled on any. You can always get a plug bit and plug you holes but that is a lot of work and hard woods don't cut very well.
