: Dark colors help also. This particular fabric was pretty thick, on the
: order of 1mm, so it was easy to prevent soak-through. If it does happen
: though, it's no big deal. I would recommend more beer and baseball.

If you stay on the ball and work just a bit faster -- maybe a little less time in the bull pen -- you can spray on a couple of coats of glue on just the foam. You don't need any on the cloth itself. Lay the fabric over your carved minicell mound, and just slide into that solid base. With less glue to set up you spend just a short stop in that position.

By the way, there are stretch fabrics made with Lycra that are specifically designed to get wet. They are usually designated at fabric stores as swimsuit materials. Usually these are available in some bold colors. Adds a nice bright touch.

Anyone think there is a chance of any reputable kayak magazine putting out a swimsuit issue showing some delicately sculpted seats ( of minicell) covered with that stretchy fabric? Nah? Didn't think so.
