: Hi,
: I want to glue (with epoxy and wood flour) an inner layer of 1/8" Luan
: doorskin to tie all the strips together in the cockpit compartment between
: the bulkheads for renenforcement. I had thought to do this BEFORE laying
: the glass, but the more I think about it i see benifits to putting the
: door skin on AFTER the glass. Sure would like to have the opinion of other
: builders about this. Thanks

: Arthur

are you planning on jumping up and down in your cockpit? you really shouldn't need another piece of wood there. but if you are planning on hucking rocks in your boat, or wear baseball cleats while paddling, I suppose you could put in an extra layer of wood, if you laminated it under the glass, you would have to do nice fethered edges so the glass would not bubble up around the wood. or you could just lay it on top of the glass while it is still tacky. just huck a rock on top of it to hold it down ;)

Forget it. Don't bother with the doorskin.
