Keepers is the brand in Pygmy boats. I've put small diameter adjusting lines through mine to allow tightening (but not loosening) on the fly. Give the line a tug to bring the peg up when the going gets rough. These braces aren't much to look at, but they do slide nicely (made of Nylon or poly-something, I think), they're not heavy, and you don't need to trigger the ratchet to bring them up.
