: if you have a kayak shop around .

: measure the distance of all the backs of the coamings from the
: bow & stern, & also the regular measures: length, width bla bla.
: then go home & calculate the ratios & I believe you'll be able to
: come
: out with something that will be in good proportions.

: or in other words: you're looking for somebody who already did it,
: well, the commercial builders already did it.

: good luck,

: build less paddle more,

Hiya Rehz :)

Here in the San Juaquin Valley, there aren't any kayak shops that I know of. This is still considered desert, and most of what you see around are power boats and jetskies. There is one shop that I know of that sells some plastic canoes and kayaks but nothing that will work for me. I do have a friend that has a Roto-Molded job and it's a 14 footer and is pretty cramped for two. So, I'll just play it by ear and try some of what Paul mentioned.

I did see two cars the other day with Coleman style canoes on top. Passing through on the highway. :( Guess I'll have to break some ground here. Thanks for your input!

How's paddling out your way? Still looking for something else to build?
