The canoe I am working on is western cedar strip and the coloring seemed to work well. I have some really dark cedar football patterns on the bottom of the hull that I will likely have to use my sanding dust and resin to get the darkness right on those strips. Brand new to all of this and really appreciate this site. My next project will be a hybrid touring kayak with plywood hull, cedar strip deck.
