Yeah sure! I'm no pro at this so take my experience with a grain of salt, but I'm almost done with the hull :D

First, don't be afraid of a block plane and a flat rasp. I use the block plane for 99% of all beveling I'm doing. The rasp comes in very handy when fitting bow and stern piece together. Generally speaking I try and leave all ends a tad bit on the long side to ensure that I have room for mistakes.

Next caveat is that my strips are "BIG" (almost 2") so not only does that mean im doing alot less in the way of beveling it means that there is alot more material to make mistakes with.

Last but not least, get yourself a belt sander, build a simple jig, flip the darn thing over and use that to do your scarfing and finish your beveling.
