This is where I get to take all the frustrations of the day and project them into the wood before me! No really, the Great Billed Awk has a very soft chine so the wide strips are suited to this boat design. Plus, because the strips are wide, but no thicker than and average 3/4" strip they bend over their width.
Next caveat: I AM USING STAPLES!!!! Which makes it a ton easier to keep the strips where they belong once I get them there.
