It is awfully hard to get a good coat on the bottom, even harder if the boat is swinging from some ropes.

I would put some masking tape right below the sheer, and do the deck and remove the tape. After it dries, flip it over and repeat the masking etc. You could do the masking right below the chine to cover a little more ground, but it won't really save you any time.

It will take twice as long as being able to do the whole thing at once, but the results will probably be better.

If someone comes up with a rack that will hold the boat rigidly, and let them flip it over so they are always working on the top, they will really have something.
