Rehd:
I did count the time of planing, but I certainly am not bragging about my miserable 1.5 hrs/31 strips. I was merely throwing out the numbers so I could get an idea from you TS (table sawyers) as to how inefficient I am on my BS. Please give me a guess, just so I know what I am missing.
As a newbie, I shouldn't generalize, but, would you agree that there is a place for both BS and TS in this stripers world? The BS can reduce waste on a curved board, and, if time and effort are not considered, the BS can get more strips per board by virtue of a smaller kerf as long as planing is light.
The TS, however, can make an excellent cut in a "oner" and leave you with many strips that are smooth as a Baby's Bot in short order. OK, I made my rash statements and guesses.....Now let me have it!
