Most spokeshave blades have a name stamp on the side opposite the bevel on the blade. Record and Stanley both have them and most replacemant blades like Hoch blades do also. The easy way to remember is to be able to read the name after you install the blade. The bevel goes toward the wood which is the opposite of a plane blade.
