: Way to go, Chip. If I might make an experienced suggestion - replace the
: clothes line with bungee, don't overtighten it, just enough to hold
: alignment.

I built my kayak (but not stapleless) in this in a major way. But instead of using rope or bungee, I used a few pcs of abt 25ft long 1in webbing. For major curvatures you can just haul on it in a major major way and get minor wood edge bruising.

Because it's flat it has a fair bit of surface friction, so only a half hitch or 2 ties off. The tie off I used mostly inl the end was just the last wrap and only a 1in spring clamp on the end.

Don't tell anyone, but once in a while the curvature was so tight(this was before i set up my steamer) that on breakage, i'd wet the breakage with glue and just wrap the livin &(*# out of it. and a semi ok result - one could not find it.
