I have the previous Bosch model and like it a lot. I think it's the 1613EVS. According to the current issue of Fine Woodworking magazine, the new improved version has a wider opening in the base to accept larger diameter bits. That was my only concern with the previous model. The FW article rated the current Bosch as the best mid sized plunge router.

Of course, everyone always says that the tool they bought is the best. I'm sure others will tell you that their router is also good.

I will admit that I am intrigued by Porter Cable's router that comes with both a plunge base and a fixed base.
