Having just had another plastic deck bungee holder break on one of my commercial kayaks, I am going to start repalcing them with the flat webbing system I use on my homebuilt kayak.

One point mounting with a stainless screw or small bolt (depending on what is under the deck) and washer. I use flat webbing folded over. I can make the flat loop large enough to hold several pieces of bungee if I want (always hated trying to thread a second or third bungee thru those small eyes.)

If I do use eyes, I get the brass ones from the hardware store rather than plastic.
