Lee, I've used many of the models others mentioned and, I think, all of the brands. If I were too have just one router it would be the DeWalt 610. Why? The entire exterior (excepting the baseplate, handles, and power cord) is metal, solid, rugged, no plastic, just metal. At 1.5HP it handles everything but the biggest jobs, yet it comes with both .25" and .50" chucks so you can do big jobs with multiple passes. Also, my hand is big enough to grab it around the housing instead of using the handles. I know, I know, this probably isn't the safest thing to do but it sure works well. I use the PC 1.5HP at work, a fine tool, and the two-base kit is a great bargain. Definitely my second choice. Tom
