Might work if you hang around the outside till they are ready to fire the cannon but what happens is that instead of lining up side by side, you will be forced to nose in...bang! I went in a canoe with my son and we were able to fend off the intruders. The only rules are that the boats have to be joined by hand or paddle for 30 seconds. Use the paddle, the whole length.
