: This morning I glassed the deck of my artic tern. As I was laying out the
: remaining fiberglass, I realized that I did not have a whole piece of
: glass that would completely cover the foredeck. Alternatively, I put a
: 'patch' of glass down to cover the spot and overlapped it over the
: surrounding glass by an inch or two. Will I be able to sand this down to a
: smooth transition or am I completely screwed?
: Thanks!

Scott I had some first time mistakes on my hull that resulted in some white cloth dots showing through and also a white smear. With help from the board, the final conclusion was that I sanded too early before the epoxy had cured out good resulting in sanding dust getting into the somewhat gummy epoxy. I think you can scrape while the epoxy is still green but the sanding should wait. That's what I am going to do when I mate my hull and deck.
